No Pity in Death: An Annie Collins Mystery Audible Hörbuch – Ungekürzte Ausgabe
Struggling to put her life back together after almost being murdered, OR nurse Annie Collins agrees to help homicide Detective Alex Frost investigate a troubling number of patient deaths in the ICU step-down unit at her hospital. The deaths are not unexpected, but Annie and Frost wonder whether someone is helping patients die.
Assistant district attorney Angel Cisneros, Annie’s close friend and neighbor, worries about her involvement with Frost’s investigation and about her well-being after all she’s been through. His worry escalates after a person from her past contacts her. His feelings for her make dealing with the repercussions of both difficult. Will Angel go from girl-of-the-month to something serious with Annie?
Dangerous enemies are one thing Annie and Angel have in common. Angel and another ADA are the targets of tire slashing, vandalism, and harassment that may or may not be related to a trial and its verdict. Is it juvenile payback for the verdict by an unhappy friend or relative of a defendant, or is it more deadly than that?
As both Annie and Angel discover, paybacks are hell.

I enjoyed this second in series just as much as book one The Mad Hatter’s Son and was delighted to spend more time in the company of Helen Starbuck’s characters-
OR Nurse Annie Collins, ADA Angel Cisneros and Detective Alex Frost.
Evil leaves it’s mark, and Annie is still terrified by the events of last year. Fear of reprisal dogs her night and day. Added to which there are a mounting toll of unexplained deaths in the unit where she works.
Asked by Alex Frost to help with the investigation Annie is once more drawn into a tense game of cat and mouse.
Angel has his own problems too, as a series of spiteful attacks seem targeted at his legal team.
Gritty and tense this was a thrilling page turner that I can thoroughly recommend.
