Not sure where to rate this, the story had page turning possibilities, but was predictable. Loved Lucas but can refrain from the constant cave man stuff, it was over done in this book. Izzy I did not like at all, she was the typical flirt with all the men, and all the men in the book wanted her. Not sure if I want to continue the series or not. Izzy keeps walking into the traps head first, TSTL. The Guardian’s are supposed to be powerful but is defeated every time they in counter the bad guys. I will read a sample of the next book to decide rather I will continue the series or find something more page turning to read with another Author.

The main character came across as trying to be more witty than came naturally. From nicknames for people like "Russian" and "Spanish" it seems like not a ton of thought or effort went into that. There were some other terribly cringy quotes that made it difficult to keep reading. I think my favorite of those was "He was so gay, in fact, that sometimes I secretly wondered if he was actually a woman." I mean, what the hell does that even mean? I should have tried to count up the amount of times the main character didn't want to look like a "prostitute/hooker/hoochie" because it got to a point it seemed weirdly aggressive? I don't get why the author had to make the main character essentially slut-shame women the whole time to make Izzy seem like such a "pick me girl." Maybe the author just has something against women who wear short dresses and heavy makeup because it seemed to be a running theme. I found Izzy very unlikeable. The two stars came from the fact I felt bad because it seemed like the author tried to make something great but it just flopped. Wasn't the worst book I've ever read but it also isn't something I will ever remember after this review. I usually loooove when I realize a book is fairly long on kindle but with this I felt annoyed and ready to be done with it.

I love Izzy and their world! I definitely found myself turning the pages, and I finished this book days ahead of schedule. Definitely a fun read, even for those who aren't romance fans (like myself). The action of the non-romantic sort keeps the reader glued to the pages, as does the back-and-forth chemistry between Izzy and Lucas.

I would love to rate this book higher than three stars, but there were two main points that I couldn't get past:
- There are a lot of editing flaws. I've read another of Brianna's books, and I can certainly see the progress she's made in editing. I would love to see this book cleaned up in this regard, as the story is a lot of fun.
- There were two scenes in the middle of the book that were not cohesive with the rest of the story.That is, jumping from one paragraph to the next, there were inconsistencies. These were not huge, but they definitely were a distraction from the story itself. Again, I'd love to see this cleaned up so the story itself can shine.

Angels, demons, magic, fae all in together. Quirky characters who are strong, sassy, masculine and some boring as. To get to the brand old age if twenty seven and have no inkling of the magical power you hold and then bam! You got it all. Half stories and less information about what or who the main character is. The other characters hold back, are not given leave to develop properly. So a bunch of sheep

This book wasn’t for me. I can’t put a book down till it’s finished usually, this book took me 4 days to read and half the time I was forcing myself to finish it. That’s not to say it’s a horrible story, I mean it’s good but it just didn’t have enough to grab my attention.

I feel that the book is more thriller than romance. Training to fight demons,fighting demons, getting attacked by demons, recovering from said demon attacks. Over and over again.Since I prefer romance novels, I was disheartened to read 250 pages with practically non-existence romance . This could have been a phenomenal paranormal romance if the author had harnessed the great potential.

The storyline is predictable. The heroine although 27 acts like a horny 13 year old. There is no explanation as to why all the characters are unbelievably beautiful and the heroine isn't. She is overweight and has lots of freckles. The whole plot seems like an excuse to write salacious scenes. I wouldn't recommend it. I had to make myself finish it to give the review I promised.

Interesting story line with several different characters. Lots of typos, but could be easily fixed. Izzy, the main female character, uses profanity more than any other character in the book. Her favorite word seems to be the f word. Not cool.
